Deir Sha’ar Pipeline is located in the southern district of the West Bank and is designed with a capacity to transmit up to 26.3 million cubic meters per year. The pipeline starts at the Deir Sha’ar booster station, passes alongside and supplies water from metered turn-outs to Beit Ummar, Karmi Tzur, Al-Arrub Camp, and Halhul, and ends at the existing 25,000 Cubic meter reservoir in Halhul, from which water is transmitted throughout most of the southern West Bank via an existing networks. The new pipeline which traversed areas A, B and C was installed underground and underneath both asphalt and dirt roads.

This project consists of:

1- Installation of a new 12.02 kilometer, 750mm (30 inch) diameter main transmission pipeline from the Deir Sha’ar booster station to the existing 25,000m3 reservoir in Halhul. The pipeline starts at the Deir Sha’ar booster station, passes alongside and supplies water from metered turn-outs to Beit Ummar, Karmi Tzur, Al-Arrub Camp, and Halhul, and ends at the existing reservoir in Halhul.

2- Installation of 15.22 kilometers of network connections ranging from 300mm to 75mm, except 250mm diameter for the cities of Beit Ummar and Halhul.

3- Upgrading approximately 10.95 kilometers of existing road along the pipeline alignment. This includes upgrading a 5.15 km stretch of main road, and milling and overlay of 5.8 kilometers of the existing roadway surface.
