Project: HEADQUARTERS FIRE STATION, MADISON HEIGHTS

Role: Design
Client: City of Madison Heights
Location: Madison Heights, Michigan
Date: Completed 2004
Size: 20,540 sq. ft.
Engineer: CDPA Architects, Inc.

This new Headquarters Fire Station is uniquely situated at a bend in a road which leads to quick access to two major streets.
The public areas take advantage of existing parking lots. The five apparatus bays are drive-thru type, located on a 45 degree angle for easy response in either direction and have support functions on both sides. The active living quarters face onto an existing city park which allows observation of park activities and the sleeping quarters face a quiet church parking lot.
A four-level training tower, with confined space entry features and surrounding Apparatus circulation is located on the rear apron.
